About Taipei County
Taipei County Magistrate Hsi-Wei Chou
Taipei County, the northmost county in Taiwan, surrounds the entire city of Taipei, with a vast territory of 2052 square kilometers. Its long coastline of 126 kilometers covers the county’s northeastern, northern, and northwestern borders. Numerous ocean view wonders and coastal scenic sites dot its northern and northeastern coastlines. The long stretch of scenic route between mountain ranges and the coast presents the most popular tourist route in northern Taiwan. Southern Taipei County is part of the Snow Mountain Range, the northern end of the Central Mountain Range. The many hills, valleys, and streams are thus characteristic of the inland landscape of this part of the county and also offer valuable sightseeing resources. With the largest number of famous scenic sites, historical relics, and tourist destinations, e.g., Wulai, Bitan, Jiufen, Jinguashi, Guanyinshan, North Coast, Danshui, Bali, Northeast Corner, Jinshan, Yeliu, Lin Family Mansion and Garden in Banqiao, Yingge China, Sanxia Old Street, etc., Taipei Country tops all other counties and cities in Taiwan. The hospitality of its people and the beauty of its scenery are what impress the visitors and keep them coming back to Taipei County.
